Not long ago, on the webpage of Marina Weight Loss was published an infographic called Obesity in United States of America. The statistical data presented on the graphic shows rather worrying results regarding obesity in the USA.
Numbers Speak for Themselves
Did you know that around 280.000 deaths every year in the U.S. is attributable to overweight or morbid obesity? According to the statistical numbers offered on the infographic more than 50% of the American adults are overweight. This means 97.1 million people who are overweight (over the age of 20). This number divided between women and men gives us 46.9 million overweight women and 50.2 million overweight men in the United States of America.
Another concerning fact is that childhood obesity also reached 25% and both adult and child overweight percentage continuously increases. Furthermore, while the statistical numbers show more than half of the U.S. population as being overweight they also show that more than a quarter of them already reached the state of obesity.
The Purpose of the Infographic
Marina Weight Loss published these statistics not only to inform the readers, but also wishes to warn people, that obesity usually comes with a series of obesity related conditions, which easily develop in this state. High blood pressure, high cholesterol, joint pain, respiratory disorders, type 2 diabetes, heart conditions are only a few comorbidities obese patients tend to develop.
The obesity infographic also gives statistical numbers on obesity divided by minorities and mortality rates.
